You can share a link via email (or text, Facebook, etc) in addition to sending the invitations through our site.
One advantage of sending a link in addition to inviting from our site is that sometimes emails are caught in people's spam (especially if they're behind a tight corporate firewall). The whole process of getting a link takes about 5-10 seconds, but I will run through it in detail below.
First, make sure you are on a laptop or desktop computer. Invitations are not able to be sent from a mobile phone.
Log into the AwesomeBox site and navigate to your AwesomeBox page. If your box is already set up, you will see a bright orange "Invite Friends" button. (If you don't see that button, complete the setup process by clicking the orange Setup link). People you invite will also see an "Invite Friends" button, so you can encourage them to invite others.
To get the link, click the "Invite Friends" button on your group page.
The next screen you see has a link near the bottom "Get a Link to Share" (orange text). Click it.
You'll then see some of the benefits to sending invitations through our site.
The main drawbacks of not using our site to invite people are:
- We cannot help you with automatic reminders.
- We can't let everyone know when its all done and on its way so they can come to the site to see the finished product.
- People you invite can't see who else has been invited.
- Invitees won't see examples of cards that have been contributed already (a key motivating factor).
Click "I Still Want A Link" and the link will appear on the screen to copy into your clipboard and use.
